CoreChoice has teamed up with HealthKarma to provide a network solution for behavioral health by creating a Telemedicine portal which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Patients that call into the portal will speak with a licensed mental health professional to discuss their issue.
The telehealth platform can address issues with depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD), eating disorders, alcohol abuse, and substance use disorders as well as other associated problems.
The clinician will evaluate the patient and if they feel that the patient can be treated with continued interactions, the patient can schedule future appointments at that time. If the clinician feels that the patient needs an additional level of care, the patient will be referred back to CoreChoice and will then be referred to a Core Choice network provider or facility that meets their needs.
In the event that the patient is in need of emergency, critical care, the telemedicine network is connected to various national crisis centers and the local authorities.
The network includes over 200,000 psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and licensed mental health professionals as well as inpatient, outpatient, and residential treatment centers.
